Rap News4 hours ago0 comments

Yeat recently shared a wild story about a near-fatal car crash he experienced as a teenager. He revealed that he was actually listening to Drake at the time of the accident. This incident occurred before Yeat collaborated with Drake on several tracks.

The Near-Fatal Crash

Yeat recalled the frightening event while speaking with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. He explained that he was only 16 years old when he crashed his mom’s car into a house. This happened while he was driving back from dropping his brother off at a football game. Yeat admitted he was going about 90 miles per hour in a 20-mile-per-hour zone. He thought he knew the neighborhood, but a sharp turn caught him off guard.

How Drake Was Involved

The rapper detailed how he swerved to avoid hitting a pole directly. He said he missed the pole by just a foot, which likely saved his life. His food fell in the car as he was trying to navigate the turn. While reaching for his falling food, he lost more control. The car went through two hedges before landing in the living room of a house. Yeat said the residents were watching TV on their couch when his car crashed through. He also shared that the Drake song playing was “Wanna Know.” a 2016 track featuring Dave. This harrowing experience happened while listening to Drake.

Collaboration with Drake

Despite the frightening memory associated with listening to Drake, Yeat has since collaborated with the superstar artist. They connected on the track “IDGAF” from Drake’s 2023 album, For All The Dogs. The two artists also performed together at Wireless Festival in London last year. It’s quite a story, going from a near-death crash while listening to Drake to collaborating with him years later
