Snoop Dogg is set to have a significant presence at the 2026 Winter Olympics. He recently carried the Olympic torch through Northern Italy, marking a special moment ahead of the games. The rapper is also stepping into a new role as the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA. This follows Snoop Dogg’s increased involvement in sports broadcasting and commentary.

Snoop Dogg’s Olympic Role

Snoop Dogg served as the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA during the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. He carried the Olympic torch through the streets of Northern Italy recently. This happened right before the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. Wearing a white tracksuit, Snoop called the opportunity an “honor.” He shared that he wanted to spread “peace and love” to everyone competing. “I’m showing peace and love and it’s an honor to have this torch in my hand right now.” Snoop Dogg said in a social media video. “I want to spread a whole lot of love to the athletes, to the people of Italy, to the whole world right now.” He believes the Olympics are about bringing people together with peace and love.

Additionally, Snoop Dogg will be contributing to NBC’s coverage of the event. He recently joined the NBA broadcast booth as well. For the Olympics, he will provide updates on the games. He’ll also be speaking with host Mike Tirico. “I am excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.” Snoop said. He stated he’s looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. “The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and, as everyone knows, I’m all about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun.” he added. Snoop Dogg mentioned he’ll be bringing his winter gear for the occasion. The Winter Olympics opening ceremony is set to kick off on Friday, February 6. It will continue until February 22. NBC, USA Network, CNBC, and NBCSN will cover the games. This information was reported by HotNewHipHop.

Trademark Dispute Over Ice Cream

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg is also involved in a trademark dispute over his ice cream brand. Snoop Dogg and Edible Arrangements have agreed to court-ordered mediation talks. They are trying to resolve their heated “Swizzle” trademark dispute. A federal judge ordered both sides into settlement talks. This battle over the “Swizzle” trademark has been going on for months. Judge Sarah F. Russell put a pause on most aspects of the Connecticut case. She is keeping discovery on hold. This gives Edible Arrangements and Bosslady Foods time to work things out. Edible Arrangements has built up a family of “Swizzle” trademarks over 10 years. These marks include fruit cut into shapes and arranged like flowers. They also cover fresh fruit with chocolate coatings.

Snoop Dogg’s company, Bosslady Foods, makes “Tropical Sherbet Swizzle” ice cream. This is under his Happi Co. brand. Bosslady filed their federal case after disagreements with the USPTO. This was over their “Tropical Sherbet Swizzle” trademark. The mark covers frozen desserts and ice cream bars. Bosslady began selling under that branding in July 2023. A trademark attorney flagged potential confusion with Edible’s “Swizzle” registrations twice. The application was briefly abandoned. Snoop’s name was approved in early 2025. That’s when Edible ramped up its opposition. They argued that both companies’ dessert products reach the same customers. Edible also sent demand letters in April and June 2025. They wanted Bosslady to drop the application and stop using the mark. They also asked them to phase out all Happi-branded “Swizzle” products. Bosslady hit back in federal court. They want a judge to declare their “Tropical Sherbet Swizzle” use does not infringe on Edible’s marks. They are also asking to cancel Edible’s registrations. They claim those registrations are generic and were obtained fraudulently. Both sides now see settlement potential. They asked for mediation before a magistrate judge. They also requested a stay of the case deadlines. Judge Russell ordered both parties to file a joint status report by April 3, 2026. This was reported by AllHipHop
