Nicki Minaj has finally put a multi-year lawsuit behind her. The rapper settled a legal dispute with a former security guard. This agreement stopped her $20 million mansion from being sold. This action happened just before a final hearing was scheduled.

Lawsuit Details

Thomas Weidenmuller, a former security guard, sued Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty. The lawsuit stemmed from an alleged assault backstage at a show in 2019. Weidenmuller claimed Petty attacked him at Minaj’s direction. He sought payment for substantial medical bills. These bills followed multiple surgeries on his jaw.

Minaj and Petty never formally responded to the lawsuit. This led to a default judgment being awarded to Weidenmuller in 2024. The judgment amounted to over $500,000. Weidenmuller’s lawyer, Paul Saso, confirmed the debt has been settled. Saso stated, “After the vicious attack that my client suffered, he is happy to put this behind him.” He added that they were disappointed by the years of attempted avoidance of responsibility.

Avoiding Home Sale

After the judgment, Weidenmuller’s legal team attempted to collect the payment. When those attempts failed, they asked the court to force the sale of Minaj’s Hidden Hills, California home. This mansion is reportedly worth $20 million. The motion indicated the property had sufficient equity to cover the judgment. As reported by XXL, a judge was considering the order for sale. The judge was waiting for specific financial statements before making a final decision. However, a settlement was reached at the last minute.

Agreement Reached

The rapper’s legal team successfully negotiated an agreement. This deal avoided the forced sale of her property. Paul Saso, Weidenmuller’s attorney, confirmed the judgment has been satisfied. He told XXL, “Today, we informed the court that Nicki Minaj has satisfied the judgment.” Therefore, he added, “there is no need to proceed further with our order authorizing the sale of her house.”**

Background Context

The legal issue had been active since 2021. Weidenmuller sued in 2022, accusing Petty of assaulting him. Minaj, who never answered the suit, was ordered to pay. Despite the judgment, she did not immediately pay the $503,000. This led to the attempt to seize her home. The mansion was purchased in October 2022. As reported by HotNewHipHop, the settlement came as Nicki Minaj has been involved in other public exchanges. She recently traded words with former CNN host Don Lemon online
