Nas shared the news about the upcoming application window on his Instagram page recently. The fellowship is a key part of the W. E. B. Du Bois Research Institute at Harvard. Each year, around twenty fellows come to Harvard. These fellows represent diverse backgrounds from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. They work on projects that are started, advanced, or completed during their term. The fellowship includes scholars, writers, journalists, filmmakers, musicians, and visual artists.

Program Scope and Application Process

The fellowship projects cover a wide range of areas. These include art and art history, Afro-Latin American studies, design, education, and Hip Hop. African and African diaspora studies, African American studies, Indian Ocean studies, literary studies, and creative writing are also included. Fellowships are available for the fall semester, spring semester, or the full academic year.
