Legal Battle With Contractor Ends
Contractor Tony Saxon took Kanye West to court. Saxon accused Ye of subjecting him to unsafe working conditions. He also claimed he wasn’t paid what he was owed. This legal dispute recently reached its conclusion, as reported by HotNewHipHop. A jury did not rule in Kanye West’s favor. He was ordered to pay Saxon $140,000. This payment covers lost wages and medical expenses. Furthermore, West must pay Saxon’s attorney fees. Those fees reportedly exceed $1 million.
Details of the Lawsuit
Allegedly, Kanye West agreed to pay Saxon $20,000 weekly. This was for work on his Malibu mansion back in 2021. However, Saxon reportedly only received one $20,000 payment. He also claimed $100,000 in construction costs were unpaid. Saxon’s legal team shared a statement after the verdict. Ronald Zambrano, employment chair at West Coast Trial Lawyers, called the verdict a vindication. He stated that Ye’s lawyers had labeled Saxon a liar and a fraud during the trial. Zambrano also noted that Saxon’s personal and financial records were heavily scrutinized. Milo Yiannopoulos, a representative for Yeezy, reportedly spoke negatively about Saxon and the law firm, according to Zambrano, Ye’s team demanded Saxon pay them to settle and issue an apology. Zambrano praised Saxon for standing firm against a major celebrity.
Additional Concerts and Album Delays
Meanwhile, Kanye West is also expanding his tour schedule. Ye announced a second Los Angeles performance at SoFi Stadium. This extra show is scheduled for April 1, alongside his April 3 date. Both concerts aim to promote his upcoming album, Bully. This decision comes despite backlash from Jewish community leaders. Sam Yebri, a Jewish advocate, expressed strong criticism. He told The California Post that hosting Ye’s concert was a slap in the face to Jewish people. Yebri added that venues make choices, and SoFi made a “despicable choice.” Despite this outcry, demand for the original show was high. Over a million people queued for tickets. The original date sold out completely. This massive interest shows Kanye West’s ability to draw crowds. This is true even with controversy surrounding his past antisemitic remarks.
Upcoming Music and Tour Dates
The Bully album has faced multiple delays. It was originally set for release on January 30. The project is now slated for March 27. The album is expected to include tracks like “Preacher Man,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Damn,” and “Losing Your Mind.” Presales for the April 1 Los Angeles date began March 12. General sales started on March 13. Kanye West’s tour continues internationally. He has booked dates in Delhi, India, followed by the two LA shows. Additionally, future shows are planned for Istanbul, Turkey, and Arnhem, Netherlands. Each venue is a major stadium capable of holding tens of thousands
