Exclusive: Kanye West Confirms First India Concert Post Tour Bans

Rap News2 days ago0 comments

Kanye West is set to perform in India for the first time. The rapper confirmed his India concert date on March 29. This event comes after several international tour dates were canceled in 2025 due to controversies. The show will take place at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Kanye West’s India Debut

Kanye West announced his upcoming performance in New Delhi via an Instagram post from District by Zomato. The poster confirmed the March 29 date at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Wednesday at 4 P.M. through District Updates. White Fox India, Wizcraft Global, and Plush Entertainment are organizing the show. West has visited India before but never for a performance. He previously came in 2009 for a spiritual retreat and in 2012 to promote a fashion line in Mumbai. India’s Hip-Hop scene has grown significantly, with artists like Travis Scott and Post Malone drawing large crowds there.

International Return Amidst Controversy

This India concert marks a step in Kanye West’s return to international markets. He previously faced numerous tour cancellations and bans in 2025. Multiple venues across Europe and Asia pulled his shows following antisemitic remarks. Australia completely banned West after he released a track that glorified Nazi ideology. The country’s Immigration Minister canceled his visa, calling his content “revolting anti-Jewish propaganda.” Notably, this ban impacted him personally as his wife, Bianca Censori, is Australian.

Festival Drop-Offs and Apologies

Furthermore, Slovakia’s Rubicon Festival removed West from its lineup after petitions protested his booking. The festival organizers eventually canceled the entire event rather than proceed with him. South Korea also scrapped a planned Seoul concert citing “external pressure and logistical challenges.” Prague’s mayor publicly stated there was “no room for antisemitism” in the city and refused to host any concerts by West. In response to the backlash, West later claimed he was “done with antisemitism.” He re-released the controversial track with Christian lyrics instead of Nazi references. He also met with a Rabbi to apologize and placed a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to express regret.

Upcoming Album and European Dates

Meanwhile, this announcement coincides with preparations for West’s comeback album, Bully. The project is slated for release on March 20, 2026, through Gamma after several delays. West also has European dates planned, including a show on July 18, 2026, at RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Additionally, he announced a concert in the Netherlands for June 6, 2026, at GelreDome in Arnhem. These international performances signify Kanye West’s gradual re-entry into global music markets
